DiXiM Digital TV plus Overview

DiXiM Digital TV plus, an advanced edition of DiXiM Digital TV, is a DTCP-IP enabled network media player application for Windows PCs. The product allows users to stream and play back digital broadcasting programs recorded with devices enabling for DTCP-IP streaming distribution, such as video recorders and PCs, over home networks.

Product Highlights

For streaming playback of recorded Japanese digital broadcasting programs over the home network, DTCP-IP support is required for both server and player devices. There are already many devices sold on the Japanese market that are enabled for DTCP-IP streaming distribution, such as video recorders, PCs, and PC peripherals.

The SKY PerfecTV! HD Recording™ service began in August, 2009 so that SKY PerfecTV! HD programs can be recorded on recorder devices enabling for SKY PerfecTV! HD Recording™. Using DiXiM Digital TV plus, users can enjoy SKY PerfecTV! HD programs recorded by these devices with a PC in a separate room. (*1) DiXiM Digital TV plus has features specialized for playback of digital broadcasting programs, as well as a user interface that facilitates searching for desired programs from the library of recorded programs stored in video recorders or PCs around the home.

DiXiM Digital TV plus can not only play recorded digital broadcasting programs, but it can also stream and play back video, photo, and music files stored on PCs or network attached storage (NAS). (*2)
In addition to the player functionality, digital media controller (DMC) and digital media renderer (DMR (supporting digital broadcasting programs)) features are newly implemented.
Using DiXiM Digital TV plus's DMC feature allows users to play photos saved on their NAS or PCs on big-screen TVs that are compatible with DMR. 


DiXiM Digital TV plus has obtained logo certification

Recorder devices compatible with SKY PerfecTV! HD Recording™ must support network distribution for the streaming of SKY PerfecTV! HD programs by using the DMS (Digital Media Server) functionality. Additionally, the receiver, recorder and PC with DiXiM Digital TV plus installed must be connected on a routed network environment.  
*2　These devices must be able to stream content over a home network using the digital media server (DMS) functionality. This product has been developed according to the DLNA Guidelines, standard specifications for home network interoperability, and can be connected with any manufacturer's DLNA certified products. Please note that the playback of copyright protected music is not supported.

* “DiXiM Digital TV” supports Japanese UI display only.
OS *Windows 7 Japanese Edition (32bit or 64bit edition) Home Premium or above. Windows Aero must be enabled.
*Windows Vista Japanese Edition SP2 or above (32bit or 64bit edition) Home Premium or above. Windows Aero must be enabled.

CPU Intel Celeron DC 2GHz or above, Pentium4 2.8GHz or above (Core 2 Duo or above is recommended), or equivalent compatible CPU.

* COPP-enabled powerful graphics board and COPP-enabled graphics driver are required.
* For DVI-D or HDMI connection, HDCP-supported graphics board is required.
* Analog RGB connection is not supported.
Memory 1GB or more is recommended.
Media drive device HDD or SDD is required.
Required hard disk space 100MB or more.
* Required space differs slightly depending on the format or space allocation of your hard disk.
Sound device Microsoft MME or Windows-compatible sound device complying with WDM is required.
Display 1024x768 pixel or higher, High Color (16-bit) or better.
* For DVI-D or HDMI connection, an HDCP-supported monitor is required.
* Analog RGB output is not supported.

* Multiple displays: if you use multiple displays for a single PC, playback is only possible on the primary display. In “mirror mode”, where the same content is displayed on both screens, playback will be shown on neither primary nor secondary display.
Internet connection Required.

Main Features
NewSKY PerfecTV! HD programs recorded on SKY PerfecTV! HD Recording ™ compatible devices can be watched.
NewSupports the playback of a wide variety of music, photo, and video files.
NewDigital media controller (DMC) and digital media renderer (DMR) functionality included, enabling the support of DCP-IP compatible recorded digital broadcasting programs.
NewUser preset search can be defined and reused by combining optional keys.
The DTCP-IP enabled network media player is specialized for playback of recorded digital broadcasting programs.
Supports H.264/AVC and MPEG-2 PS formats used in video recorders' long-play mode, in addition to the MPEG-2 TS format used for directly recorded digital broadcasting programs.
Calendar view, switchable between month, week, and day displays, allows users to check their lists of recorded programs just as with an EPG. Photos can be played back by event date.
Recorded programs can be filtered by a diverse set of criteria, such as by unviewed, genre, channel, date, day of the week, and time slot.
Playback operations similar to video recorders, such as 30 second skip and 5 second review.
Related contents display feature, suitable for watching drama series or checking programs in which favorite actors appear, recommends other programs related to previously played programs.
Resume feature that restarts playback from where it was last stopped.
Operable with the Windows Media Center remote control.
